In the early 60s, Stewart began his career in a humble way by busking on the streets with his harmonica. From there he performed vocals or played his harmonica for several London-based bands including the Dimensions, the All Stars, and eventually the Jeff Beck Group in 1967.

November n 1969, while singing for the English rock band, “Faces,” he simultaneously launched a successful solo career with his debut album ‘An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down.’ It was first released in the United States and made it to the US billboard 200 charts with Rolling Stone’s Griel Marcus calling it ‘superb.’

While he enjoyed mild success with his first two albums, it was his third album that launched him into stardom. ‘Every Picture Tells a Story,’ released in 1971, was his true breakthrough album, topping the charts in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. The album’s hit ballad, ‘Maggie May’, became one of his most iconic tracks and features a blend of rock and folk elements.

Music has a profound impact on our writings, our lives, and inspires us in numerous ways. Early in our first novel, Tariana and Adam danced at a picnic the first day they met. Pavori  brought Adam back to life after his near death experience. In our ‘Inspirations’ books we include chapters on Stewart and other artists who have had a positive impact on us.

Music evokes a wide range of emotions, from joy to sadness, anger to love. It lets us feel and express our emotions more deeply.  Listening to music or creating it stimulates the creative processes in humans – as music inspires us to express ourselves in our novels. Music unites people by creating shared experiences. Uplifting words and music motivate us to push through challenges, work-out harder, play with our children, or simply keep going when times are tough. Music, along with inspirational stories, novels, and good films inspire us to connect, create, reflect, and grow. Music can even aid in healing.

Whether we’re listening to it, creating it, or sharing it with others, let each of us employ music to touch the lives of others in meaningful ways.
