Let Freedom Ring

Independence – a dream that  many communities all over the world have strived for and are still striving for.

For Americans, this day came on July 4th, 1776 when the Continental Congress declared America’s independence by ratifying the Declaration of Independence. Thirteen American colonies declared themselves to  be a new nation – free from British rule.

July 4th is an important day not only for the United States, but elsewhere  around the world.  It marks a significant moment in history – the beginning of a new era of self-governance and democracy. On this day we celebrate freedom and liberty as we accept the responsibilities that come with autonomy and self-governance by ‘we the people.’

Far beyond the United States, July 4th serves as a symbol of hope and inspiration for others still fighting for their own rights – inalienable rights denied them by oppressive rule.

In our debut novel, Adam in Taoland, Adam escapes totalitarian rule by artificial independence and his meaningless AI-controlled life in his homeland of Novana. He leaves for Taoland in search of his dream of a purposeful existence – achievable only with personal freedom and liberties.

In our second novel of the “Dreaming Dreams” trilogy,  Homeland Rescued, Adam returns to his planet of birth to lead others in making the same choice – to guide them to discover the joys and the challenges of self-rule by ‘We the People.’ He and his wife Tariana lead a silent revolution against the domination by the Plakerol robots that are AI-programmed to provide ‘free stuff’ as they deny all human purpose.

On this Independence Day, let us take inspiration from those who have earlier struggled to secure and preserve our independence, wherever we might reside. Whether in our own communities or in our nations at large, let us understand and celebrate the freedoms we have, do what we must to maintain the rights we enjoy, and support others in their struggles to secure the same.
